In the next week, new memories will be made. A new country and a new state.
Traveling for me is not really about the “vacation” but rather the adventure. We GET TO do life with our kids. We prioritize togetherness over everything. Cultivating secure attachments, where our kids feel free to discover who they are and what brings them fulfillment and joy. Giving our children a real childhood, to live and learn in the present, not focused on chasing the future of what will they be “when they grow up.”
We can do it in the mundane moments of life and the more exciting moments…balance.
This is not just about making sure our parent/child relationships are healthy, but to set them up in the world for future relationships, both personal and professional, a life long investment, starting at home.
Life is too valuable not to invest in what we feel is most important. There are far too many distractions in this world leading us to believe and chase other things. It’s easy to think that chasing individual accomplishments should be the number one priority, but for us, at the end of the day, we believe we were created to be a part of a unit, with others, in collaboration and love, a gift that only comes when another soul is involved.
As I listen to each one of my loved ones breathing in their sleep right now, I can’t help but sit in gratitude that God continues to let me love them fiercely. Traveling is HARD on this body, in so many ways, but I persist, so that they always know that hard does not mean impossible.
Thank you God for the bonus 1,081 days since Aug 27,2020. 💜
