Here is a post I made four years ago.

This is my favorite mug. I won it in a gift exchange last year. Words are so powerful, they can either lift up or destroy a person. 

I try to find JOY in all things, even the parts of life where it feels impossible some days. 

Last night after a great girls weekend with my friends, the rug got pulled out from under me, as life has a way of doing.

I wanted nothing more than to crawl back into bed after all of my kids went off to school and make the world disappear. But instead, I ended up having to take my oldest daughter to school, her transportation bailed again. 

Instead of getting stressed out or feeling sorry for myself I chose Joy. The drive to and from her school is one of my favorite drives. Mountains ⛰ galore, reminding me of the resilience, strength and perseverance I carry with me in ALL parts of life. Horses 🐎 that always make me happy. Though I’m not allowed to ride them anymore, they bring me JOY to just see them. 

The rotation of this mug in my cabinet is always perfect, on the days I need a reminder, it seems to be the very mug sitting in the front saying choose me.
