The Project “We-the children of Mother Earth” focuses on one of the most important problems of our World: environmental problems .
Drinkable water, breathable air, and edible food are some of the resources that are necessary for life to continue. Young people comprise nearly 30 percent of the global population and will be the decision makers of the future. Their way of thinking about the environment is already shaping the world of tomorrow. The involvement of today’s youth in environment and development decision making and in the implementation of programmes has been internationally recognized as critical to sustainable development.
The Project focuses on a universal problem: environmental pollution. We expect our project to motivate students and staff to gain knowledge about European natural and cultural heritage, improve modern languages and new technology. Our partnership will develop awareness for our students, staff, parents, local community and the public to understand ways we can protect our natural and cultural heritage, learning from each other, but keeping national identity as European added values.
The awareness of the pupils will develop about environmental pollution, recycling, materials, chemical wastes ,energy saving, global warming ,climate changes and more importantly let them see that issues are common across all Europe and the only difference is the unique ways how people tackle the problem. They will study learn ,and practice through the whole Project period.
While preparing different materials ,doing surveys, planting trees and other activities students will develop self –sufficiency and become more self-confident individuals. All these activities are meant to be carried out by applying innovative methods ,which by the end of the Project will be mastered professionally and students will regard them as inevitable part of school process.
If there is one thing we all worry about, it is the future and most importantly innovative methods that will be used at schools so we should provide great sources to promote environmental awareness to our children so as to give a clean and a bright future. We feel committed to the priority of ensuring that all pupils have an awareness of the enormous issues we each have in our own countries , in Europe and indeed the world .
