Ongoing literacy events support PTA’s mission to foster strong family-school partnerships. Look for upcoming literacy roundtables, author visits, and storytelling events in your area. These meetings are great ways to bring families together and support student success.

Dyslexia Awareness & Advocacy

Western Region PTA is proud to support efforts that raise awareness of dyslexia and promote literacy for all students. We’ve created a dedicated space with resources, updates, and opportunities to 

get involved with our Dyslexia Resolution initiative.

WE ADVOCATE FOR 

3 CORE PRINCIPLES

1. General Education Inclusion: Students with dyslexia must be recognized as general education students first. With appropriate support, they can thrive in inclusive classrooms, which feature structured and evidence-based reading instruction delivered by trained educators.

2. Continuum of Support: Recognizing that dyslexia exists on a continuum, we must develop support systems that are tailored to the diverse needs of all learners.

3. Literacy Equity: Every student deserves equitable access to literacy resources, ensuring that no child is disadvantaged by their background.
