Advocacy is at the heart of everything we do. The Western Region PTA is proud to stand with families, educators, and community leaders to speak up for the needs of all children locally, regionally, and statewide.

Whether it’s championing safe schools, promoting mental health resources, supporting equitable funding, or influencing education policy, our members are empowered to make meaningful change. We help parents and caregivers become effective advocates in their school communities and beyond.

Advocating for Literacy for All

Western Region PTA is proud to share that board members Abbey Bielefeld, Stacey Pellicano, and Brigette Callahan authored NEW RESOLUTION #1: Implementation of Structured Literacy for Students with Dyslexia – 2025.

This proposed resolution was voted on at the NYS PTA Annual Convention in Niagara Falls in November 2025 and PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. 

Its goal: to ensure every student has access to structured literacy instruction, supporting success for those with dyslexia and advancing literacy equity for all learners.   👉 Read the full PASSED resolution here
