We love radiology and ultrasound because they are non-invasive ways to look inside the body. Ultrasound also allows us to target specific areas for fine needle aspirates and biopsies. With this information, we can potentially obtain a diagnosis without surgery. Since our radiographs are digital, they can also be reviewed remotely by radiologists. When needed, our veterinary radiologists Dr. Long and Dr. Herrgesell also travel to our hospital to perform specialty ultrasounds of the abdomen, chest and joints. If we want to look more closely at the heart, we call in our veterinary cardiologist, Dr Brian Mackie.
