My name is Wendy Querube Ramos Castroverde. I'm from Coclé, I love practicing kickboxing, my hobbies are reading, writing and spending time in nature. I work in Panama Tourism Authority and also I tutoring elementary school kids. I am a mother of 3, I am single and I own two cats. Yes, I am a cat lady 😅, I really love my life as it is right now, I continue to build my world one day at a time with my goals and projects, among them are getting my degree in this career. So, there is still a lot to tell.
How important is it for you to develop your interpretation skills and what you would like to achieve with that.
First, I decided to study an English Degree because I want to become an English Professor. One of my goal is to work with teenagers and adults, however, I must accept that it was not a goal for me to be an interpreter or translator. It has been in this degree that I have learned the wonderful world of translation and interpreting, and I realize how important it is to develop this skill, which will serve me anywhere in the world. It is for this reason that I am very focused on continuing to prepare myself in this field, and to become certified as an official translator.

In this project, we applied the Shadowing technique, we chose a video to apply this technique.

I chose this video of Obama, as it is inspiring and motivational.
I enjoyed this project very much because I was able to choose a topic to which I feel very much related, the existence of life, and who better than Don Pedro Mujica to explain it.
This project, I consider, has been one of the most interesting assignments, to say or transmit the ideas of the video, but with different words, although it was a challenge, it also meant a very important learning within this course.
Once again, I wanted to take a video that was out of my comfort zone, in which I had to use some words that were difficult to translate and interpret. This scientific video achieved the initial goal.
This topic is very interesting, autism. The chosen video has relatively simple language, however, it also uses words that are not common to the audience.
This was the first time I chose to simultaneously translate a news story, trying to interpret at the same time as the reporter was also a challenge for me, however, like the other projects, I also enjoyed it.

Conclusion
At the beginning of this course, I must admit that it was a bit difficult to get used to the simultaneous translation, since in the previous course, we had the opportunity to pause the videos and translate. Project 1B was the most challenging of all, since it was a fast playback and I had to speak in unison with the video. But as with everything in life, practice makes everything flow more harmoniously, and so it was with me and every project I did. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Prof. Dumolin, I learned a lot from him and from each assignment.
