Buddy Program

The Buddy Program connects new international students like you to returning MRU students who provide a friendly face and a helping hand as you transition to your life in Calgary and MRU. Having a contact and friend in Calgary can make a world of difference for new students. Buddies can also offer linguistic support, cultural guidance and information about life at MRU and in Calgary.

If you would like to be part of this program and be matched with a buddy, please complete and submit this form by September 2, 2021!

Language Partners Program

The Language Partners Program coordinated by International Education is an informal language learning and teaching program that brings together students wanting to learn or practice a new language. Participants get the chance to meet other students and practice speaking a chosen language in casual conversation outside of the classroom. Participating in the Language Partners program helps students develop fluency and confidence.

The 2021/2022 Language Partners Program is now open for registration. There is a strong demand for this program and all interested students are welcome to join. Register here!

Registration will be open until mid-September. If you have any questions please email international@mtroyal.ca.
