ADOPT A BEE HIVE SCHEME 2023
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Waveney Beekeepers Group was established in 1986 and is the official organisation for beekeepers in the Waveney Valley from Diss to Lowestoft. It is the only beekeeping group in the area affiliated and recognised by both the Suffolk Beekeeping Association and the British Beekeepers Association. This year, we are offering the opportunity for a limited number of local businesses to “Adopt a Bee Hive” at our apiary at Barsham, between Bungay and Beccles.
Why Adopt a Bee Hive
In any competitive market, a company’s ethos and principles are important factors in clients’ decision making. Increasingly, clients are choosing to do business with organisations that can demonstrate that they are acting responsibly, particularly with regard to the environment. Public awareness of the importance of pollinators has increased significantly over the past few years – not least because one-third of the food we eat relies on them. The honey bee is, of course, the most prominent pollinator and the public want to be associated with honey bees and their protection and welfare. Adopting a beehive provides a simple, ready-made opportunity for your organisation to demonstrate its Corporate Social Responsibility.
What You Will Get
Your adopted hive will be exclusively yours for the whole of 2023 (the active beekeeping season runs from April through to September) and will be looked after and managed by a highly experienced bee keeper from Waveney Beekeepers Group. Your adoption includes:
a high quality printed certificate with your company’s name on it for display on your premises;
your company logo on the adopted hive;
regular updates and photographs of your adopted hive for you to use, license free, in your own publicity;
four 1lb jars of raw, natural honey from your hive to enjoy, give to staff or give to clients, with an opportunity to buy more honey at a discounted price.
an opportunity for up to six people to visit your hive on a pre-agreed occasion and inspect your bees with an experienced beekeeper.
What Does It Cost
There are a limited number of hives still available for adoption in 2023. The whole package, including the costs of any equipment, weekly inspections and honey extracting for 2023 would be £300 (a discount of £50 would be offered for any second and subsequent year adoptions).
