What is restoration?
Restoration is the practice of renewing and restoring degraded, damaged, or destroyed ecosystems and habitats in the environment with active human action. Trained watershed volunteer program stewards can assist with restoration activities independently.
Invasive Plant Management
Help manage non-native invasive plants to restore a healthy native plant community
Seed Collection
Help collect native seed that will be used to restore healthy native plant communities
Tree Plantings
Help restore and promote growth by planting new trees in barren areas
Live Stake Planting
Help reinforce banks and limit erosion by planting live stakes
Restoration with WVP
The Watershed Volunteer Program currently operates a restoration program to help monitor and restore Cleveland Metroparks natural areas. Watershed Stewards can volunteer to help with invasive plant management, site stewardship and restoration project photo monitoring.
