follows the same hours and schedule as the cooperating teacher for the semester, with exceptions managed by the university’s program for approval.
follows the same school norms and procedures as the cooperating teacher and asks for clarification as needed.
reads the school’s student handbook and teacher handbook and asks for clarification as needed.
notifies the cooperating teacher and university supervisor in case of illness, and makes up time if more than two days of absence are required.
attends staff meetings.
attends parent-teacher conferences.
attends some extra curricular activities.
has a cooperating teacher that is available, is providing positive feedback, and is offering support for planning, techniques, and reflection.
is not responsible for all regular classroom management for the duration of the experience, but may in an emergency situation act as the regular teacher for one to two days at most.
