has at least three years of full time teaching experience, with at least one year at the current school.

can share stories (while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism) and specific school protocol of ethical and legal issues including the ND code of ethics for teachers, 504 and IEP plans, and liability negligence.
communicates the contracted teacher hours and the school’s daily schedule
provides a way for the student teacher to communicate in the event of an emergency, illness, and need for absence.
provides a statement of expectations that the student teacher can use to help develop proficiency as a teacher.
provides a timeline of activities for the student teaching experience.
is available, provides positive and timely feedback, and offers support for planning, techniques, and reflection.
is responsible for all regular classroom management for the duration of the experience, but may allow a student teacher to assume responsibility in an emergency situation for one to two days at most.
conferences with the college supervisor and the student teacher prior to the student teaching evaluation and recommendation
