EdPuzzle Presentation                 8-24-21

....for Teacher Resources

Intro:

·        Want time to do actual puzzles?  Riddles?  Projects?  Investigations…

Try this…

What is EdPuzzle?

·        Track your students' comprehension.

·        Check if students are watching your videos, how many times they're watching each section, and if they're understanding the content.

·        It’s self-paced learning with interactive video lessons. Add your own voice narration and questions.

·        Use videos from YouTube, Khan Academy, Crash Course and more. Or, if you'd rather record and upload your own video.

·        Allows you a way to have a “flipped classroom” By assigning your students video lessons to watch at home and using class time for more meaningful activities. Students learn the basic concepts of the lesson at home using Edpuzzle videos, which they can watch at their own pace. This gives the teacher more time in the classroom to work on other activities that will reinforce students' understanding of the topic

Who uses it?

·        Go to “My Network” to view other teacher’s videos from Washburn School District.  Most teachers have tried it 😊  Some have used it a lot…

Fun facts…

·        All Washburn teachers have UNLIMITED storage…. PRO accounts

·        There are some new features:

·        Add required STOPS in the video for…

o   Multiple choice, open response questions, or Notes

·        Add notes, including a scavenger hunt to other web sites

·        Add multiple questions & notes in the same place in the video.

o   Students cannot move on to the next question until they view/answer the question.

·        Record your voice. According to EdPuzzle, studies show that students pay three times more attention if they hear a familiar voice!

o   Make your own video (Screencastify) and upload it

§  Why????

·        Turn a slideshow or PowerPoint into a video lesson?

o   Not finding the right video for your students? Make your own!

·        To make sure any new students are added to your class in Edpuzzle, follow these steps:

·        Check your Google Classroom to make sure the student is on the roster for the class in question. If not, you'll need to add them before proceeding.

·        In Edpuzzle, select the class in question from the list under “My Classes” in the menu on the left-hand side of your page.

·        Click the "Class members” tab and on the right-hand side, you'll see the "Import students" button. Click that button and your roster should update to include any new students from Google Classroom who have been added since your last import.

§  You can embed edpuzzles into virtually every website or blog. Your students can watch the video from one place, and you'll collect the progress report and responses in Edpuzzle.

o   Just want to use it all by itself without a LMS?

§  EdPuzzle has a …. “PDF for students: How to register & add class”

Get and stay organized
