At the 10th TWMU Waseda University Research Exchange Seminar, Tomoya Uchida, M1, presented a poster of his research results.

Dr. Katsuhiko Mikoshiba of Shanghai University of Science and Technology visited us and gave us advice on our students' research.


February 3 and 13, 2024

Presentations of master's theses and graduation theses were held.

Seven master's theses and nine undergraduate theses were presented. There was a lively Q&A session.

Bannai's course "Neurophysiology and Pathology" received the Teaching Award for the fall semester of 2022.


December 6~8, 2023

M2 students Ayano Chikuma and Yoshihiro Sakata presented their research results in a poster presentation at the 46th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan, Kobe, Japan.


November 14~16, 2023

At the 61st Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society of Japan (Nagoya, Japan), M2 Iona Katayama, Boxiao Zhao, and Shigeo Sakuragi, lecturer, presented their research.

At East Asian Single-Molecule Biophysics Symposium 2023 (EASMB2023), Dr. Bannai presented the results of single-molecule imaging in neurons.

Dr. Bannai gave a lecture on single molecule imaging at Shanghai Tech Life Science Seminar.


August 18, 19, 2023

Oral presentations were given by Dr. Naoki Kato (M1) and Dr. Bannai at Tau Research Meeting 2023 (Nagoya City University).


August 2, 2023

At the 46th Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society, Chisato Oyama, M2, was selected to give an oral presentation in the "Dementia 1:" session. Dr. Sakuragi (poster) and Dr. Bannai (symposium) also made presentations.

At the 64th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Neuropathological Society and the 66th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neurochemistry, Chisato Oyama (M2) gave a poster presentation and Bannai gave a symposium presentation.

2023.3.26  The bachelor's and master's students had their graduation ceremony.

2023.3.10 Tomoya Uchida and Naoki Kato of B4 gave poster presentations and Bannai gave an oral presentation at the Symposium on New Academic Singularity Biology. The entire lab worked hard to organize the symposium at the Ono Memorial Auditorium of Waseda University.


2023.3.6,7 Rie Kato, Mimu Enomoto, and Haryono Sebastian NATHANIEL (B4) presented their research results at the Kanto Branch Meeting of the Japanese Society of Biophysics (Tokyo Univ. of Agriculture and Technology) on March 6 and 7, 2023.


2023.2.27 Shigeo Sakuragi, Lecturer, and Bannai received the Waseda University Teaching Award for the spring semester of 2022 in the class of Neurophysiology and Pathology of the Brain.

2023.2.6 and 13  master's thesis and graduation thesis presentations were held in person for the first time in a while.


2022.11.30~12. 2, Ayano Machida (M2), Yoshihiro Sakata (M1), Iona Katayama (M1), Ayano Chikuma (M1), and Shigeo Sakuragi  (Lecturer) presented their research results in the poster session at the 45th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan.


2022.9.5, Students assigned to our lab (B3) for FY2022 were selected!


2022.8.19~20, Chisato Oyama (M1), Shigeo Sakuragi   (Lecturer), and Bannai gave presentations at the Tau Research Meeting, held in Amami-Oshima Island.  This meeting was introduced in the Amami Shinbun (August 20, 2022).


2022.7.1, Ayano Machida (M2) made a poster presentation of her research results at the Neuro2022 in Okinawa.

2022.3.26 Graduation ceremony for B4 students

2022.3.2 Shigeo Sakuragi, Taro Katagiri (B4), Ming-Te Lee (M1), and Bannai presented their research on membrane lipid dynamics analyzed by DNA-mediated quantum dot single molecule imaging at the 11th meeting of the Kanto Branch of the Japanese Biophysical Society.

2022.3.1 Ms. Chisato Oyama (B4)  gave an oral presentation of her research results at the Tokyo Women's Medical University-Waseda University Research Exchange Seminar.

2022.2.4 B4 students presented their graduation research online.

2021.11.25 Bannai received the 2020 Fall Semester Teaching Award for his "Life Science B (1)" class, which he conducts in collaboration with Dr. YuTahara.

2021.12.19 Presentation at Pacifichem 2021 conference Symposium "Trans-scale Biochemical Analysis of Rare Events in Living Systems: Singularity Biology".

2021.11.25 Bannai received the 2020 Fall Semester Teaching Award for his "Life Science B (1)" class, which he conducts in collaboration with Dr. YuTahara.
