Thrown Weapons Descriptions
Range Set Up--Thursday 4PM
All marshals and MITs are welcome to come help set up the range Thursday afternoon starting 4 p.m. I will make every attempt to ensure that a training marshal is on-hand for those who need signatures for range set-up.
Shot in the Dark--Thursday starting about 9PM
Come out to the Thrown Weapons range for some after-dark adventures! Targets will be glow in the dark (glow sticks). NO LOANER WEAPONS - THROW AT YOUR OWN RISK. Throwing in the dark represents potential for increased damage to weapons - especially handles! Headlamps may be helpful for finding weapons that go wide, but will not be allowed while participants are throwing from the line. NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED.
Release the Quaken--Friday 10-11am
Join their Excellency Scyid Del Aquilla Friday morning to Release the Mighty Quaken. The mighty Quacken lurks in the depths, its up to you to RELEASE THE QUACKEN upon the world!
Open Throw—Friday: 11am-Noon, 1-1:30pm, 3-4pm; Saturday:10-11am, 1-1:30pm, 3-4pm
The range will be open for all participants who want to throw. No experience necessary - loaner weapons and instruction will be available.
Marshal's Meet Up--Friday, 12-1 p.m.
All TW marshals and MITs are invited to lunch on the range Friday from noon until 1 (bring your own lunch, please!) and meet other marshals and MITs from across the Kingdom.
Learn to Throw with Trystan der Facheltraeger--Saturday 11A to 12P
You don't have to be a body builder to throw axe and spear! 9-time winner of the Pennsic inter-kingdom tomahawk division teaches how to throw safely and without injuring yourself. Works for non-athletes. No Fee. 10 years and above, must have permission.
Thrown Weapons Snack Time: Eat What You Stick!--Saturday, 2-4 p.m.
Kids and their parents are invited to the Thrown Weapons range Saturday afternoon for a snack! Targets will be (pictures!) of treat items (some sugary, some savory, some fruity). Participants will be able to choose a snack from among the targets they hit. (Snacks will be whole fruit or pre-packaged and with labeling for allergens. Substitutions will be allowed if a participant sticks a snack they cannot eat!) Standard knife, axe, spear, and sling targets will be available as well as targets set at ranges for younger/smaller participants.
Range Tear Down--Sunday, 9-10 a.m.
All marshals and MITs are welcome to come help tear down the range Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. I will make every attempt to ensure that a training marshal is on-hand for those who need signatures for range tear down.
