Equestrian Descriptions

Jereed

A historic game of Central Asian origin in which javelins are thrown between riders on opposing teams to score points. A ceremonial version is still played in parts of Turkey today.

Joust/Groundcrew 101

Unmounted participants needed. Jousting requires many helping hands on the ground in order to function. This session is intended to teach people how to safely groundcrew the Joust, with the intention of any willing helpers assisting in the actual joust which will immediately follow. Everyone is welcome. Riders not participating in the actual joust are welcome and encouraged to ride in this class.

Joust Tournament,  Hosted by Mistress Eowyth

Foam tipped Jousting. THE tournament to watch. Check out the action as jousters from far and wide compete in this noble sport.

Challenge Course, Hosted by Lady Susanna and Lord Balthazar

A blend of equitation skill and entertaining obstacles.

Rossfechten 101 (Unmounted) & 102 (Mounted)

A new and currently experimental mounted combat system that utilizes synthetic and steel swords to offer a more historical combat experience than the traditional SCA Mounted Combat program. Essentially Cut & Thrust on horseback. This class will teach you everything you need to know to get started and participate in drills. Limited loaner equipment will be available. Bring a fencing mask and elbow pads if you have them. All riders are encouraged to check out this new activity. Fencers are also invited to attend the ground class, and any with a Mounted Games authorization may participate in the mounted portion (pending spare mounts availability).

Daiku

A historic game of Japanese origin in which two teams of riders compete to move small colored balls into a goal using long poles with a net on one end.

Mounted Archery

A classic mounted archery tournament.

Her Majesty's Mounted Combat Tournament

Her Majesty requested to watch mounted combat, and we are providing! Come join her for a show!

Youth Page Tournament

A youth-focused equestrian activity. Come practice "mounted" weapons handling in a head-to-head race. Fun for all ages! No authorizations required.

Challenge Course, Hosted by Lady Hrefna Gellir

Another course to challenge the abilities of riders and their mounts.

Mounted Procession

Royal mounted procession to court.

Pick Up Game

A simple final game, likely tippet tag, before everyone packs up to go home.
