What is Wargrounds Canberra?
Wargrounds is a tag-based battle sport that aims to emulate large-scale medieval/ fantasy battles with a number of win conditions, while keeping combat safe and enjoyable.
Wargrounds is a strictly 16+ game.
Any player under the age of 18 must have a parent consent form filled out and signed on their first game to be able to play. For social events if the venue allows it, we encourage members under 18 to join us but due to the nature and the presence of alcohol at some events we ask that they are with a parent or guardian.
Costumes are required to play at Wargrounds for thematics, but they do not have to be elaborate.
First time players get a pass for not being in costume but we ask for you not to wear blue jeans or brand logos, and recommend a plain black shirt and black pants. For more information on how to start building a cost-effective costume, and things to think about, please see the "How To Guides" tab on our website.
IF STOP STOP is called, all players MUST immediately stop fighting and wait in place. STOP STOP is only to be called in an emergency such as; a weapon breaking, someone falling over, or someone injuring themself. STOP STOP can be called by any player who notices an issue, and should be repeated by ALL players until play has stopped. Players are expected to be quiet during the STOP STOP resolution.
After a STOP STOP has been called, if there is a serious situation or injury requiring admin intervention of first aid, a DOWN DOWN may be called (by an Admin only). In this situation, players MUST take a knee if able, and must stay quiet to allow focus on the situation for parties involved.
After a STOP STOP or DOWN DOWN has been called, combat can NOT continue till 3-2-1 LAY ON is called. This may only be called by an Admin.
Wargrounds has a number of abilities with different effects. CLARIFY is called when a player doesn't know the effect of an ability; the player who cast the ability must respond with the ability's effect/s. It is important to not rely on this, as all players are encouraged to read the rules. Please note that gameplay will not stop when this is called.
Wargrounds uses Marshals as additional referees for the games, to assist Admins.
Marshals have the final say on all matters about the games; arguing with a Marshal may cause you to be instructed to leave the field.
