Members of the WAAC 2023 Steering Committee have arranged for special rates at certain hotels in Lawrence, Kansas. The Oread is the only hotel within easy walking distance to the campus. From most expensive to least expensive:

The Oread Hotel

The Oread, located beside the University of Kansas main campus, is the most unique and complete center for lodging, hospitality, business and social leisure activities in the region.

The Oread is holding twenty-five rooms. Fifteen of the rooms have king-sized beds and are $125 per night for Wednesday and Thursday and $159 for each of Friday and Saturday nights. To secure this rate, the rooms must be booked by 1 May 2023. For booking, guests should call 785-843-1200 and specifically mention the group name "KU Institute for Policy & Social Research" for pricing.

The Hampton Inn

The Hampton Inn is close to Interstate 70, a mile from downtown Lawrence with its shops, galleries, and cafes on Massachusetts Street. The University of Kansas is five minutes away by car, and it's four miles to Haskell Indian Nations University. The hotel is a ten-minute drive from Clinton Lake for boating, fishing, and swimming.

The Hampton Inn is holding about 30 rooms. The rooms are $119/night for Wednesday and Thursday and $159/night for Friday and Saturday. For this rate, rooms must be booked by 10 May 2023. Guests can book online here or call 785-841-4994 with the group name AAH Conference or the group rate code AAH.

At the Baymont, down-home hospitality meets on-the-road convenience. Located on Iowa Street across from Centennial Park, just minutes south of I-70, staying here puts you close to the University of Kansas and historic downtown Lawrence.
