Trusted local organizations are often the first point of contact for survivors and community members experiencing harm, particularly when fear, language barriers, immigration concerns, or distrust of institutions prevent formal reporting.
The organizations who received Stop the Hate Grant funds are referred to as Program Service Providers (PSPs). They are local experts who provide services and resources that are responsive, accountable, and grounded in community realities. By strengthening the capacity of PSPs to deliver services, the State ensures that Californians can access support systems, healing spaces, and accurate information without additional risk or retraumatization.
