Welcome to the Visual Art Educator Tool Box and the Creative Arts Palette of Resources!
This site is designed as a place to access all the resources and (more!) shared with you during the Visual Arts Education Curriculum and Pedagogy course at the Faculty of Education!
The Arts are an integral part of the school system for all ages of students and educators. This website and course focuses on the methods, content, planning, instruction, and assessment in Elementary Visual Arts Education we explored in the course and provides opportunities to explore form and function, meaning, and the creative and critical analysis processes in the arts.
This website and course examines the philosophies and methods of Visual Art Education at the Primary / Junior / Intermediate levels. Pedagogical considerations in the teaching of studio art, aesthetics and art appreciation, creative and critical thinking, creativity as a whole, assessment and evaluation, integration of the arts, diversity and equity, health and safety in art classrooms, effective use of technology and digital media tools, lesson and unit planning, resource sharing, and classroom management and organization are all explored!
See the following tabs to support your learning throughout the course and as a resource to refer back to upon completion of your studies and as you continue on your professional teaching journey!
Updates will occur as additional resources become available!
