For the purpose of identifying student attendance for parents and state reporting, we will take attendance for students similar to how we have in the past. Teachers are to take attendance while connected to students during their virtual meetings throughout the day. Elementary students are to have A.M. and P.M. attendance and secondary students are to have attendance taken in each period that appears on their schedule each school day. Please note this includes our secondary students scheduled to P-CCS Teachers in P-CCS Michigan Virtual Academy.
Teachers should record an absence for any student who does not attend the virtual meeting. The student does not need to be visible on camera but will need to be heard to count the attendance.
Teachers have a variety of ways they may record their attendance:
1. Live in MiStar record attendance during the virtual meeting.
2. On a printed attendance report while meeting and then input into MiStar before the end of the school day.
3. Using the MiStar App on a smart phone.
