In my UBUS 110 class here at Northern Illinois University I was given the opportunity to work on a consulting project. I worked with Kaneville Community Child Center, a day care and preschool in Kaneville, Illinois. My team and I's objective was to establish successful fundraising strategies to increase funds for their operations. Our group held various meetings with the client so that we could learn about their current situation and any challenges that they may face when it comes to fundraising. Afterwards we provided Ms. Cheri Ryndak with three strong possible recommendations to help her with the fundraising side of her business. My team was called The Consultants and we learned how to work as a group together and conduct industry research. We also learned how to present this consulting project together and effectively communicate. This Consulting Project gave me the opportunity to learn real world skills and how to apply them to a business. I also learned how to manage my time effectively and how to properly construct slides for an informative presentation. I will take everything I learned from this experience and class and continue to apply it in my other classes, jobs, and internships.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my team that consisted of my classmates, Anthony, Lorenzo, Corentin, Ricky. They all sacrificed their time and attention towards this project and if it weren't for them then this would not have been possible. They all pushed me to become a better presenter and a better person.
I would also like to thank Ms. Cheri Ryndak. Without her we would not be able to help a real life business and get this experience. She was extremely helpful with our meetings and she devoted time out of her schedule to meet with us.
Another person I would like to thank is Professor Kuhar. She always believed in us from the start and gave us the confidence to accomplish this consulting project. She always treated us like professionals and held us to high standards. She allowed us to get some real life experience and overall come out of this course with a different mindset. Now we can apply all these skills we learned all semester long in our careers.
