Victoria Li (b. 2000) is a fine art photographer based in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Her work focuses on migration, memory, and identity. Her latest projects, 'Dear John,', ‘Origin’, and ‘Where Do We Belong’ document her diasporic experience as she explores her sense of belonging in a foreign land. These images range from landscapes to archives, still life to experimental abstracts. Quoting Wells, the intention behind the artist's work is driven by the ‘need for a clear sense of identity and culture belonging.’ Dealing with such complex and multi-layered topics, her approach is ambiguous and concept-driven. Most importantly, these projects are intended to raise questions rather than provide answers.
Interested in self-publishing and graphic design, she has produced and designed a few photobooks alongside her projects: Origin (2023, 2024), Dear John,(2023), Welcome to Paris! (2022), and Where Do We Belong (2022), etc. Her book 'Origin' (2023 Edition) has been awarded the Second Runner-up at the Hong Kong Photobook Dummy Award 2023 in the 2nd Hong Kong Photobook Festival.
