On the Relation between Ontology and Epistemology in Physical Theorizing (Prague)
Since modern physical theories are formulated in mathematical language, we must look at mathematics in order to understand what these theories tell us about the physical world. But in what ways does mathematics reveal the nature of the world? Either we let mathematics dictate the structure of our physical world, or we use our intuitions and subjective understanding of the world as guides to interpret mathematical formalism. In my talk, I will discuss these two options and argue for a middle way that appeals to some new epistemological principles.

L'intreccio tra fede e scienza nell'Umanesimo di James Clerk Maxwell
As part of the public engagement program 'Science & the City', I contributed as a researcher to the creation of the videoscience Digital Society, which explores the relationship between AI and society. The project features three cycles of video-mapped projections, during which researchers from the university present their research by transforming the city's most famous building in three symbolic locations in Perugia into dynamic stages for science communication. The project aim to translate complex scientific content into visually engaging narratives, making them accessible to a broad and diverse audience, including those typically distant from academia. The initiative also enhances the urban and social fabric of Perugia by transforming public spaces into arenas for dialogue between science and society.
Science has no age!
I participated in the project 'La scienza non ha età' (Science has no age), where AI researchers engaged with residents of a retirement home to discuss AI. This initiave aimed to bridge the generational gap in understanding technology, addressing common fears and misconceptions about AI while highlighting its potential benefits. By fostering an open dialogue, we sought to empower elderly participants with knowledge, making them feel included in coversations about technological change rather than alienated by it. The project also emphasized the ethical and societal dimensions of AI, encouraging reflections on its impact across generations.
I contributed as a lecturer to the MOOC 'Time, Universe and Particles: An introduction to the Philosophy of Physics' developed by faculty members of the Philosophy of Information program at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. The online course provides an accessible yet rigorous introduction to fundamental concepts in physics and their philosophical implications. Chek it out!
