This week was the first time our group split up to do work. So far in the term, we have allotted time every day to sit down and work together on accomplishing our weekly tasks. Our workflow was organized, our ideas were collaborative, and our productivity was through the roof. However, to accomplish the volume of work required between completing our introduction draft, research, and our background draft, we felt it was best to split up. We each wrote our sections, then came together and read through our project proposal in its entirety. It was evident that this final step is imperative to the process given the number of corrections, edits, and changes we ended up making.
Our greatest team bonding moment this week was creating our final presentation. We all pitched in with our different areas of expertise to craft what we believe to be a masterpiece. I, Dimitri, took charge of our theme creation, editing it to perfection with the greatest color scheme you will ever see. Katherine loves making infographics and went all in, making them more exquisite than the Sistine Chapel; and more interesting too. Sam is an incredible writer, comparable to no other than Shakespeare himself, compelling enough that no man could deny our brilliantly juicy ideas. Ben kept our spirits high throughout, chiming in with encouraging enthusiasm and empathetic criticism.
While these may be slight hyperboles, I believe it is an accurate representation of the success we have accomplished and the connection we have fostered as a team. Whether joking around, working hard, or a little bit of both, we have created a solid group dynamic. We are confident in ourselves and each other and we look forward to our time in Italy more and more with each passing day.
