Speaker System Construction
Speaker System Construction
The speaker system incorporating VCD speakers is characterized by its exceptionally fast transient response. This high-speed response allows even subtle changes in sound quality to be perceived with greater sensitivity. Here, we present the insights gained through this heightened level of resolution.
In designing the system, we place strong emphasis on preserving the inherent performance of the VCD speaker as much as possible. We also explain the key considerations and design approaches adopted to minimize any adverse impact on sound quality.
In this system, a channel divider (active crossover) is employed instead of a conventional LC network.
Rather than relying solely on amplifier-side metrics, we evaluate the effects of LC networks on damping characteristics and phase behavior based on the circuit conditions as seen from the speaker side—the source of the damping force—and explain the reasons for not adopting the LC network.
