It all began with over a month of preparation, practicing more than four songs, including some church hymns and other musical pieces. We also rehearsed three times a week, during which I discovered my vocal range is quite high. For a long time, we performed on Fridays at coffee concerts for senior citizens and students. Finally, all the effort paid off when we performed at the Exeter Space church in Oxford, where we played for three days.
The Choir Tour to Oxford was a Project Week focused on music, collaboration, and cultural engagement. Over several days, we followed an intensive schedule that included daily rehearsals, a final concert performance, and cultural activities in Oxford such as guided tours and group experiences. The trip required early mornings, structured rehearsals, and teamwork in order to prepare for our final performance, which represented the culmination of our collective effort.
During the project, I participated in choir rehearsals twice a day, working on vocal technique, harmony, and group coordination. This process required discipline, consistency, and cooperation, as our performance depended on everyone contributing equally and staying committed throughout the week. In addition to rehearsals, I took part in group meals, cultural visits, and shared moments with my peers, which helped strengthen the sense of community within the group.
Overall, this Project Week helped me develop teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance, as well as confidence in performing as part of a large group. It also showed me the importance of collective effort and communication in achieving a shared artistic goal. The experience in Oxford was not only a musical opportunity, but also a chance to build connections, develop discipline, and experience cultural life in a new environment.
