The Firstie Camp experience allowed me to strengthen my connection with the women in my house, Gwynedd, creating a greater sense of belonging and community. Throughout the camp, I developed a more flexible mindset by stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing new challenges. One of the most significant moments for me was when we had to jump off a cliff into the sea—something I had never done before in my life. Despite my initial fear, I chose to take the risk, which helped me build confidence and resilience.
Additionally, the camp provided a valuable space for reflection, allowing me to step away from the academic environment and begin processing the emotional void left after the second years graduated. This experience helped me realize that while there were qualities I admired in them, there were also aspects I would approach differently. As a result, I began to shape my own identity as a future second year, understanding the importance and responsibility of the role I will take on in 2026.
