A national holiday of the Eastern Slavs, dedicated to the summer solstice and the highest blossoming of nature and celebrated on June 24.
On this day all people are poured this water. It is a pagan holiday which lost its meaning a few hundred years later. Now it's just a tradition. Children gather in small companies, walk around the city and pour water passers-by
People stand in a circle and lead a round dance. Adults and children gather in a small round dance, then diverge into a large round dance. They sing songs related to the holiday of St. John the Baptist.
