Easter is one of bright and festive holidays. Easter came to Russia from Byzantium with baptism in the late 10th century. So this holiday has a long story in Russia. It's amazing but many years later a lot of Easter traditions stayed in russian culture.
In Uzhur we have nice church and people go to here for worship services on the eve of Easter.
In this day and following week people should be happy and give a piece of this joy to everyone.
When we think about this holiday we always associate it with eggs. Here is a lot of tipes of eggs like red eggs that are called "krashenka", painted eggs that are called "pisanka", wood eggs that are called "yaichata". Traditionally onion peel are used for egg painting but now you can meet many different things for decorating. Also Russians have a tradition to give eggs each other.
On this holiday it is customary to bake traditional pastry-cakes, Easter, paint eggs in different colors. Right in the morning, believers go home with treats.
