Tapio von Boehm is a versatile and active conductor who leads several different orchestras. In his work, he has for example developed the cooperation of orchestras with young talented soloists, as well as with contemporary composers. Tapio is known for his dedication to music, as well as organizing uncompromising and ambitious concerts and festivals. He wants to encourage his orchestras to the best possible musical collaboration, which conveys the emotions risen by the music.
Tapio von Boehm is the conductor and artistic director of Uuden Ajan Ensemble, which he founded 2011. He has been the conductor and artistic director of the Sipoo Chamber Orchestra (Sipoon kamariorkesteri) since its beginning in 2010. Over the years, the orchestra has developed into a high-level and ambitious orchestra, where advanced enthusiasts, as well as professional musicians play. The orchestra received Sipoo's cultural award in 2021. In addition, Tapio von Boehm works as the conductor of the NMKY symphony orchestra and the Valkotakit symphony orchestra.
Tapio von Boehm studied orchestral conducting in Jorma Panula's class at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm 2004-2009, completing his diploma in 2009. He also studied in Leif Segerstam's orchestral conducting class at the Sibelius Academy 2007-2011, completing his diploma in 2011. Tapio von Boehm came third in the international Jorma Panula conducting competition in 2012.
