Our thankfulness Campaign was our first campaign we did after being an established chapter and introducing ourselves to campus. This took place November 14th - 18th 2022, and this was the first time we had an opportunity to show who we were and start getting involved in the student body. The Thankfulness Campaign involved writing thank you cards to Vol Dining and Facility Service Workers at the University. We wanted to hit on these two demographics primarily because they are people we don't think of as much when it comes to thanking, and they work so hard behind the scenes to make everything work.
The preparation for the week was pretty straightforward, all we needed was a table in the library, colored pencils, and paper. However, what we were not ready for was how many people would actually write a letter. Over the course of the week, we had 300 people write detailed thank you cards in the library, and behind the scenes Phi Mu and Delta Zeta Sororities wrote 500 artsy thank you cards. This made our total over 800, which was an unbelievable number.
That following Sunday and Monday we worked hard to organize every single card that we received into 30+ piles and deliver them. That sunday, we worked for hours to organize the cards into the piles and made a plan to deliver them. We partnered with Facility Services and Vol Dining to help us distribute to dining halls and all of the custodians and Facility Service workers. For the rest of the cards, we wanted to deliver them. We delivered to over 30 locations on Monday because we wanted to make sure the cards got to where they were suppose to.
After the Thankfulness campaign we realized the need for a positive organization to shine light on this campus, and this campaign gave us so much hope in our future and what people want from us. So with 800+ thank you cards, we are excited to continue this campaign in 2023
