Proficiency with Computer Software Programs
"I invested time in my employment learning process by learning a lot of information about working with computers,
then sharing that knowledge with coworkers as a resource to the computer lab," said a USU student assistant.
The Computer Lab operates the Software Education Program, based on the research of Dr. Adam Peck. The purpose of the program is to train student employees in the transferrable on-the-job skill sets that support a successful transition to profesional jobs in various industries. Using a badging system, participants develop computer software knowledge, verbal communication practice, selling and influencing abilities, and practice identifying and articulating the transferable skills acquired.
How Computer Lab Techicians Learn
Student employees complete an in-house Software Education Program (SEP) to augment their learning of tech programs.
