Colombo Sketch Walk - 18th January 2026
After venturing away to organize sketch walks in three other iconic cities, we were back home in Colombo for the final walk of the series - in Colombo Fort. With the momentum and recognition built up from the past successful events, this event was by far our biggest, with over 80 participants. Under the morning sun, artists of all skill levels gathered to capture the intricate colonial architecture and the bustling modern-day pulse of Sri Lanka’s commercial heart.
From the towering legacy of the Clock Tower, to the historic charm of the stories Grand Oriental Hotel, to the remnants of the old Fort walls, and every location in between, the sketchers were taken on a educational and entertaining journey by the charismatic Prof. Asoka De Zoysa, who we were privileged to have as our guide.
It was an inspiring day of "seeing the world, one drawing at a time," as we filled our sketchbooks, made friends, and reconnected with the city's vanishing landmarks.
