Udonpittayanukoon school sets clear expectations of rules and behaviors of learners. Through such, there is a manifestation of a positive learning environment. A structured atmosphere begins with establishing a set of rules and norms at the start of the school year or semester in which was present. These standards were apparent to learners, they understand the repercussions of both positive and poor behavior.
Pushing through, the learners are taught to greet and bow to all of the teachers, heads and educators to express their sign of respect. They also put their shoes outside of the room to keep the orderliness and cleanliness. These are Thai cultures that keeps the classrooms abide the smallest to biggest detail of their culture.
Each table consist of four chairs to be occupied by four leaners. In the class that I have observed and taught, they are 36 all in all that's why there are a total of nine tables. Amidst having that number of tables, the room was still spacious and organized because rooms in Udonpittayanukoon are huge and ideal. One classrooms used three air-conditions which keeps the leaners comfortable during the learning cycle.
As an exchange student teacher, I also had my fair share of classroom management. During my implementation and teaching sessions, I tried to instill clear and on-point instructions to my students. I also tried the aid of awards through giving simple tokens of gifts when they can answer the questions that I asked. I used a range of instructional methods such as lectures, recitations, group exercises, discussions, and hands-on experiments. At the end of the lesson, I gave my students gift packs that would served as their key memory of me, their teacher Karen from the Philippines. Thus, I am positive that I developed excellent relationships with my learners. I was able to know each individual, demonstrate real concern for their well-being, and foster supportive and inclusive environment for them to be comfortable with me as their teacher. I was deeply touched when my students told me that they felt valued and appreciated. I think that was a contributory factor on their active participation in the learning process.
A multidimensional approach to good classroom management includes clear communication, positive relationships, proactive behavior control, a variety of instructional styles, and a well-organized learning environment. I was able to build a well-organized and accommodating learning atmosphere that optimizes learning possibilities and enhances students' general well-being as I observed and executed these tactics.
