Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Here on the Applied Behavior Analysis page you will see a definition of ABA by  Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, PhD, BCBA-D

• Behavior analysis is a scientific approach to understanding behavior and how it is affected by the environment. "Behavior" refers to all kinds of actions and skills (not just misbehavior) and "environment" includes all sorts of physical and social events that might change or be changed by one's behavior.

• The “Applied” in ABA is the practical application of behavioral techniques.

• Early intensive intervention can make extraordinary differences in a child's development. How a child is functioning now may be very different from how he or she will function later on in life. Recovery is possible with extensive therapy.
