·Bedtime routines are an excellent way to calm your child before it’s time to go to sleep. Lasting 20-30 minutes, routine activities could include a bath or diaper change, undressing and selecting pajamas, toothbrushing, story time, quiet songs, and hugs and kisses.
· Take turns during self-care tasks after bathtime. Alternate brushing turns with the toothbrush or with the hairbrush or comb.
· Take turns selecting books to bring to bed for story time. Alternate selecting the order of books as you read together.
· Use the covers to take turns playing Peekaboo by hiding your faces or your child’s loveys.
· From the bed, alternate saying goodnight to your child’s favorite toys or other items in their room.
· Take turns giving hugs and kisses to other caregivers and siblings.
