The land arcs to the sky with abrupt rocks and trees. While trees tend to thin out the higher you go, PineClan thrives in the thick forest and rough rocky territory. Boreal forest trees rise above and cliffsides create outlooks. Prey like squirrels, mice, birds, and other creatures end up on their diet.
Outsiders often claim that PineClan is Patient yet Zealous. Most notably. PineClan is considered the most welcoming of the Clans, yet consider their family and StarClan above outsiders.

PineClan cats are noted to be incredibly cautious of everything. They think before they speak, and while they may welcome you in, they appear passive and distrustful. PineClan cats are often ready to give one chance and that's it, with a tendency to be cautious in every decision. Family and StarClan is everything, and they're noted to be very protective of that concept. Outsiders appear to have a rather neutral outlook on PineClan for their seemingly patient nature combined with their zeal for family and StarClan.
It's very obvious that PineClan cats are frosty on the outside, and warm on the inside, their attitude towards life seems to be to wait, and their values appear deeply entwined in a belief and value that family, starclan, and cautiousness will make for a better life.
It's considered noble by any in the clan to put your family and StarClan first, yet it seems to drive some conflicts in the worst kinds of families. It's considered normal for cats to find friends in non PineClan cats, but it's considered abhorrent by them to share information about PineClan.
It's very quickly noted that for how often PineClan blends in within caves, trees, and cliffsides, they have a penchant for dark tabby coats. While it's not definitive, they rarely have any white, and hardly any pale coats.
Physically speaking, PineClan is a clan full of powerful builds. Strong, thick boned, broad, and large builds. These cats tend to be large, and have powerful hind legs. Typically they're built so heavy weighted, that comically they sink in the snow compared to YewClan and FirClan.
Their fur is often noted to be a varied collection of thin wiry long fur, and most commonly, thick wiry short fur.
PineClan does have it's outliers, and it's most common outlier appears to be the occasional pale fur, with a notable part being that it tends to be from colourpoints rather than dilutes.
Interestingly, PineClan appears to have a tendency to produce cats with black fur for the most part, and torties and red tabbies appear uncommonly to the clan. Though it's not really rare from the pale coats end of the spectrum.
Traditionally, PineClan values family, and would rather keep their leader in the same long lineage.
For generations, PineClan's Leader has descended from the first PineClan Leader who is highly regarded as a guide or muse. They celebrate Pineconestar's memory every leafbare, with a festival.
PineClan has been known to refuse deputies the right to leadership if they have no blood ties to the last leader, and traditionally will cast stones to pick a relative of their late leader to lead instead.
They hold a festival in the Leafbare, with a happy memorial of their first leader, and the creation of PineClan. They see it as a time to celebrate hope, a new future, and often give around pinecone seeds to fellow clanmates to toss down the valley cliffs for game, or gift as something heartfelt.
In memorial of the dead, PineClan buries their dead in the Caves of Sunder. A place highly regarded as a holy place, where only if they are worthy of the stars can they leave the caves.
PineClan is known to value StarClan greatly. They have a tendency to believe most things to be signs and believe most prophecies. They tend to be superstitious as well. For comparison, It's easy for many PineClan cats to believe a mere avalanche could be StarClan's anger. They believe greatly in family and value it as well.Â
These cats are specialized to traverse the world at night, climb trees, climb cliffsides, and mark for quick escapes under avalanche conditions. They act as typically regular warriors, with the focus upon climbing and night time. While they make for great warriors, they must be constantly aware of how to rescue cats into higher mountaintop trees during an avalanche. Though some argue that the trees are a terrible place to go, these cats have to find the best trees for these safety measures.
These cats are specialized to dig at the earth, check snow sturdiness, traverse caves, and serve the clan at daylight. They act as safe guards to knowing when an avalanche is imminent, yet still act as regular as can be. In Greenleaf, they dig tunnels to find prey, and herbal roots for the medicine cat. These cats appear to be able to hunt graciously without sight, and are taught caving etiquette and signals without sight. Easily regarded as a hard specialty, as they must be adaptable to not using sight in caves.
The Clan is noted to have a specialized system of trapping, while it is seemingly just rocks set up with a stick placed to knock them down, PineClan appears to know just how to set them up and lure most prey in. (Typically with seeds.)
It's quite common for PineClan and FirClan to be at odds, PineClan started by a split between them and FirClan at Pineconestar's visions. In addition, FirClan cats view their roles as a rip off from their own. In some regards, FirClan is correct by names alone. Pineconestar was rather unoriginal.
PineClan's Leader is notably related to Pineconestar, and the lineage is valued greatly. While it used to be that Deputies had to be eligible leaders to be deputy, The Clan shifted away from that, and Deputies do not need to be related to the leader. However, it's notable that Deputies who are unrelated to the leader, can never be leader, as the Clan will vote in any eligible leader in the former leader's stead.
PineClan is noted to be mostly nighttime orientated. general warriors are up at night, and so are moon climbers, on rare occasion one might see a sun carver though. However they cling to the caves.
The Clan camp of PineClan is built into a cave on the side of the mountain.
