Players Player

This award is presented to a player that has shown her team courage, determination, and importantly our core values throughout the season. She has been fearless and has made every one of us fight for our positions which has only made us stronger. She isn’t afraid to tell us how it is, but you soon learn it’s coming from a good place. She has led with passion on and off the court and has been pivotal to our success this season. So, I would like to award the players player award for 2021, our vice captain, Julia Wynands

This award goes to someone who has continued to grow connections both on and off the court. She has demonstrated her love and passion of the game, at times acknowledging that it takes over. She can receive feedback and execute what is asked of her immediately. This player has great communication, brings a high level of intensity and is an overall team player. Averaging 8 intercepts per game, this player has Canterbury excited for what is next in her netball journey. It goes without saying that we will see this lady progress in her netball, and we will be forever supportive.

Most Versatile Player

This player has shown not only versatility, but courage, resilience and unlimited support to our player base and team management. She is most definitely not shy of sharing thoughts, however, has mastered her own little niche in communications. Her fight and ability to grow and develop a team culture has been one that many of the team players have appreciated. This player was key in the beginning to establish a strong foundation, team culture and additional supports. Her versatility isn’t just portrayed on the court but also off the court. She has a clear vision and goal in what kind of netball she wants to see and commands this from her teammates and management. It is heartwarming to see this person’s progression in a different netball environment and I am so proud of her for making the journey to change and challenge herself in 2021.

It is with great privilege and honour to award this years 2021 Most Versatile A Team player for UC Netball Premier One, Manaia Feather.
