Human Resource Frame
When defining the Human Resource Frame, many people might incorrectly default to thinking about the Human Resources Department. Instead, the Human Resource Frame considers the interactions between organizations and the people it employs. Organizations need people to accomplish their strategic goals, while people need the organizations to meet their intrinsic and extrinsic needs. When the needs of one or both sides of this relationship are not met, there is no longer balance between the two (Bolman & Deal, 2021).
Reflection
It is important for leaders to understand how to view situations through the Human Resource Frame. Organizations need to meet their goals while naturally having limited resources for people it employs. The employees offer their services to the company with the expectation that their needs are met, whether the needs are salary, healthcare, self-actualization, or many others. Leaders need to be able to identify when these needs are being met, and most importantly, when they are not.
