[First Solo Performance]
For my first solo I have chosen Pressure and Time by Rivals Son because I had been learning it with my Drum Tutor for working towards my grade 6 video and thought that it was the best of the 3 songs I had been working on. My decision was between Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm, Misery Business by Paramore or Pressure and Time by Rival Sons. My Misery Business wasn't looking at the time when I was practising these songs and I hadn't started Smooth Criminal yet, so by process of elimination, I went for Pressure and Time.
The main thing that I had to focus on was the sextuplet fills, the ghost notes and the high hat.
[Second Solo Performance]
For my second Solo performance, I had chosen toxicity by System of a Down. I have done this because it is going to be one of the Grade 7 pieces that I choose to do when working on my grade 7 drumming with my drum tutor. I have always had nice feeling when it comes to listening to music from system of a down and this song is just one of the most listened to and most iconic, I just had to learn it. As you can see, when it comes to the bridge section of the song, I struggle to play the crash parts and this is due to an injured foot at the time and I just hadn't played it for about a week because I was so confident with, and that was my way of performing. If I go on there with confidence, and mess up, then it is no the end of the world but I will most definitely learn from it and be able to know what parts of the song that I should focus on. For me this was the bridge and the fills in the chorus.
