[1950S]
Song 1: Rock around the Clock
As a band, we collectively chose to perform Rock Around the Clock, simply just because we thought it was good. I personally think that this went well as a band.
Plug in Baby - Cover Song.
For our cover, we chose plug in baby because we all liked the song and we started off playing it normally and then i put a swung drum beat behind it, the Billy started swinging the guitar riff and then Audrey started singing softer to fit in with the feel and sond of the song. I think this was very successful.
[1960S]
Song 1: Still Into you - cover
We didn't really get to do much still into you, we swung it in the slightest so that it sounds like it was earlier that it was but it still sounds very close to the original. I don't think that this song was a success
Song 2: Hit the road Jack
With this song, we all decided to do hit the road Jack because it is such classic piece that literally everybody knows. I think that this song was a success
Song 3: Fortunate Son
As a band, we collectively chose this song because we thought it would act as a nice contrast to still into you and hit the road jack so it would clearly demonstrate our skills of playing different genres. I really liked this song and I really think that this is one of our best song. We then moved on and chose this song to be in our final set list.
[1970S]
Song 1: Ain't No Sunshine.
I really enjoy this song and this that it was a massive success. We chose this song as a band because it stood out to us with the pattern of things we did throughout this project and fit the theme of our previous.
We were stuck doing our songs from 50s and 60s past the deadline so we only had the time to do one song for his project, but I think that it went really well.
We then went and made this song an addition to the final setlist.
[1980S]
Song 1: There she goes
This song was a nice little acoustic song that we wanted to play as we chose both of our songs at the same time. We thought that it would be a nice contrast with Hysteria. It went really well and we chose this song to go into our final set list.
Song 2: Hysteria
This song is one of my favourites. This song requires more brain power to do the drums because of the constant ride cymbal as well as the high hat on the off beat. I loved performing this song and I think that it went really well, and as a band we all loved this song. This song went so well, we put into our final set list.
Song 1: Zombie
For the 90s, because the class had been running past deadlines, we didn't have too much time for this so my band only did one song. This song was Zombie because it was an nice middle point with all of our past songs.
I think it was a nice song and such a success and we put this into our final setlist.
What went well?
In this performance. Our setlist was the following:
Ain't No Sunshine
There She Goes
Zombie
Hysteria
Fortunate Son.
I think that our setlist went really well. My personal favourite song in this was Hysteria. I think that the best song we did was fortunate when you look that the performance side of it. In this song, at the end we did a big finish and during this big finish, my drumstick had fallen out of my hand. I didn't take notice of it and just tried to continue with the the big.
What are you most proud of?
In this performance I am most proud of our communication and hard work as a band and how that lead to such a successful performance. It was definitely some of the better work I've done with my music career.
Audience Reaction?
I think the audience's reactions were great. Everybody seemed to love it. I could see people singing along, the cheers after every song were great and I had loads of compliments from friends and family afterwards telling me how good my band sounded.
Anything you would have wanted to improve?
I don't think that there is really anything that I would want to improve. Maybe my confidence and crowd presence. I think that that is an area that I lack because I have always had stage fright, so taking music is a huge step up in my life. I think that this performance was honestly perfect.
What have you learnt as a result of this project?
As a result of this project, I have definitely learnt how to be a better musician in general because my performance knowledge has gone through the roof. I think that this performance was a huge success and I really did love this band. We were a great team, all had great skills in communication and just our instrument in general. We were such a good team and I believe we delivere such a good performance.
