Maxima, a Computer Algebra System
Maxima is a system for the manipulation of symbolic and numerical expressions, including differentiation, integration, Taylor series, Laplace transforms, ordinary differential equations, systems of linear equations, polynomials, sets, lists, vectors, matrices and tensors. Maxima yields high precision numerical results by using exact fractions, arbitrary-precision integers and variable-precision floating-point numbers. Maxima can plot functions and data in two and three dimensions.
Mathematics made easy: Instructional YouTube Videos
The International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI) has launched the YouTube channel “Mathematics Made Easy" which showcases 30 instructional mathematics videos. ICEVI CEO, Dr M.N.G. Mani has worked on this project since 2016 with an international advisory committee of professionals in the field of mathematics and vision impairment. The target audience for the instructional videos includes teacher training institutes, educators and families who support students with vision impairment to successfully participate and achieve in mathematics at primary and secondary school. Nemeth Braille Code Curriculum
The Nemeth Braille Code Curriculum is designed to teach students who are visually impaired how to read and write the Nemeth code. It is aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS Initiative, 2010) and includes hands-on activities and games that reinforce grade-level math concepts and make learning the Nemeth Code fun and meaningful for children of all ages. The curriculum also includes teacher scripts, braille ready files for student worksheets, answer keys, data recording sheets, review activities, and assessments.
