CPD Credits
Course: Introduction to working with blind and low vision students

Available until: December 31, 2024
For Maryland professionals, you will be able to receive 1 CPD credit from MSDE hosted by MSB by watching 15 of our webinars and completing a survey after each session. You will then receive follow-up coaching to see how you implemented what you learned in the sessions. If you have any questions, please contact conchitah@mdschblind.org.
Follow these steps to receive 1 CPD credit
1. Obtain prior approval from your employer/local school system to verify that the CPD experience will be accepted for credit.
2 Register for MSB course: Introduction to working with Blind and Low Vision Students.
3. Watch the webinars listed below.
4. Complete the follow-up surveys.
5. Contact us with any follow-up questions.
6. Have a coaching call or email several weeks after your course completion to follow up with implementation.
7. Once all steps are completed, we will present you with the CPD Completion for Credit Form.
8. Submit the forms as directed on the CPD Completion for Credit Form.
Participants have the following responsibilities:
1. Obtain prior approval from their employer/local school system to verify that the CPD experience will be accepted for credit.
2. Make sure that you receive the signed CPD Completion for Credit Form upon successful completion of all requirements. The Division of Educator Certification and Program Approval does not keep records of MSDE CPD participants.
3. Submit the forms as directed on the CPD Completion for Credit Form.
If the participant is not employed by a local school district, but holds a Maryland certificate, he/she should retain the credit forms and submit one copy to the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Educator Certification and Program Approval, Certification Branch, when requesting renewal of his/her certificate as directed above. The submission should include a cover letter explaining the request and identifying information such as name, current address, name of school, and social security number.

- Reading Media Assessments 1: Quality Assessments LMA and FVA
