Te Ao Weherua
This model of Practice allows the intimacy and love of preserving your loved one, an accomplishment that goes beyond the bill from the Funeral Services because you do this collectively with your own whanau and allows the model of understanding that the person (Loved one) will rest wholly and you uphold the traditional cultural process of staying with the tūpāpaku from the time of his/her passing to the time you lay him/her to rest in the urupa.
My model of Practice to preparation before the handling of the Tūpāpaku and also the completion of the Tūpāpakurau Rongā. Rau is the natural resources we harvest to bring forward to using these resources on the deceased.
"Rongā here! Rongā Wai! Rongā Tai"
The end result of preparation is about not allowing the tūpāpaku to give decay smells or decay damages to the body and naturally be buried with the whole body without any body organs removed and not using embalming that funeral services practice.
Rongoa Maori has a great influence into making the Kete Rongā Tupapakurau and these are the resources that will support the preserving and preparation of your loved one. Each item varies with the individual. The Pani Parekawakawa will be taught and made at the workshop and other items will be available on the day for purchase.
Te Ao Weherua is about defining and a extension of the Paru Ora & Rongā Tai preparations. In the Tupapakurau Rongā Waananga is about introducing the kaupapa to you and Te Po Weherua holds the taha mauri and taha wairua of intent and self-practice using the energies of time by Hine Mahuika and her sisters.
Te Ao Weherua is the one wananga you must not miss because we will be refining and defining Paru Ora to the level of cosmetics for the facials of our loved ones and the course of the vessel from the head right to the toes.
This 2nd wananga is only for those who have completed the introduction of Paru Ora and Te Po Weherua.
