IKEA is launching the Buyback & Resell in 28 markets to encourage them to bring back used IKEA furniture and get a voucher to use in the brick-and mortar or online store. Most returned items are resold through IKEA's As-Is sections, while others are recycled or donated to community projects. Moreover, IKEA knows that many usable furniture are still composed, so they are managing a partnership with the municipality of Oslo in Norway, creating a program especially for the unwanted IKEA furnitures at the Haraldrud Recycling Station, Oslo. Items will be checked, cleaned, and resold. The goal is to enhance convenience for customers and increase the reuse of high-quality furniture.
