Carl is a boring person. He is thirty-five years old, he has a desk job, he likes to golf, and he is forgettable. However, with narrators that both romanticize and ridicule the beauty that surrounds Carl’s incredibly normal life, his story becomes a comedic tragedy that audiences will be all too familiar with. Broken relationships and broken dreams force Carl to wonder whether his life will be worth anything more than a collection of sad little memories that will inevitably disappear. Will Carl make the most of his limited time on Earth? If not, how long will it take for Carl’s presence on Earth to be essentially worthless? Is it possible to turn a mortal person into an immortal story?
Extra Ordinary was performed at The Reach Performing Arts Center in Deer Isle, Maine in May 2021. It is the first full-length I wrote, preceding all others you'll find here by 4 or 5 years. Below is the first 15 pages of dialogue as a sample. Please contact me if you'd like to read the whole thing, if you'd like more information, or if you'd like me to beg you to produce it. I will.
