A snowstorm forces soldiers from both sides of a war to seek refuge from a sweet aging couple living on the border of the two nations. As the hosts attempt to keep the soldiers from learning each other’s affiliations, it becomes clear the couple is more involved in the war than expected.
Dance Again won the 2021 Valley Players Playwright Award in Waitsfield, Vermont, where it also received a staged reading in March 2022. Dance Again then received its world premiere in May 2022 in Belfast, Maine with the Belfast Maskers. I also directed this production, a process I utilized to make minor edits as I noticed what worked and didn’t work on the stage. By using the reading and the premiere production to refine my play, Dance Again has become a fully fleshed-out piece that accomplishes all of what I intended it to. Below is the first scene as a sample. Please contact me if you'd like to read the whole thing, if you'd like more information, or if you'd like me to beg you to produce it. I will.
