Music Artistry Program

A WSMTA program formerly known as Adjudications, the Music Artistry Program is an opportunity for students to perform two memorized contrasting pieces for a highly qualified visiting artist and receive written and oral comments. High school students may be recommended to perform at the state conference. Events are organized by instrument, and take place in the spring. Information about the program can be found at the WSMTA site, and details will be organized and shared with members by the MAP piano, strings, and voice chairs.

MAP Encouragement Grants

Tri-City Chapter offers 5 MAP Encouragement Grants of $25.00 each for individual teachers to use within his/her private studio. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first–serve basis.

The purpose of these grants is to encourage the potential of students and their participation in WSMTA Music Artistry Program. It is hoped that teachers will be encouraged to give their students opportunity to participate in this educational program sponsored by WSMTA.

The grant may not cover all expenses of the teacher or the student(s), but should encourage the financially needy student who is musically gifted and who would benefit from the adjudication process.

· All teachers, keyboard and non-keyboard, who are members of WSMTA/Tri-City Chapter may apply.

· Each teacher may apply for one grant of $25.00 for the current year’s adjudication. once all requests have been granted, if there are remaining grants available, a teacher may apply for a second grant.

· The grant may be used toward a student’s registration fee, accompaniment fees, or extra minutes.

· The teacher may use this grant for more than one student.
