The Music Literacy Program in Written Music Theory is offered by WSMTA. Tests are available for piano, violin, viola, cello and bass, Levels 1 through 10. A curriculum guide is available at www.wsmta.org. Teachers register their students and pay half of the fee online at www.wsmta.org and send the other half of the fee to our Chapter Treasurer. The fee is $7.00 per student ($14 for students of non-member teachers). Registration is open from April 1 to April 30. Students take the tests in their teacher’s studio from May 15 to June 15, and the tests are returned to Holly Harty to be graded. Students who receive a grade of 98% or higher will have their names and their teachers’ names listed in the WSMTA newsletter, The Clarion.
